All in all, it's a nice little book. I wouldn't recommend it as Selections from the works of Su Tung-po book first intro to Su Tung-P'o (nor as one's only book on him by any means), but it's a valuable selection of his prose perfectly fine in conjunction with other works like Burton Watson's translations of his poetry.
